"Une légende est née" is the last phrase that Lacoste wants to emphasize on the 90th birth celebration of its Polo brand. In 1927, René Lacoste invented Polo under the project named L.12.12. 

Next week, we will see the same spirit with Fecon who was born in 2004 by highly qualified experts in underground construction in Vietnam.  Fecon's founders keep the same spirit as René Lacoste because of their great ambition that not only to win the Earth but to lovely listen the Earth.

For those 3 key reasons, we decided to active our monthly Friday Beer & Business Networking tomorrow at 7PM, Friday, 5 June, Highway 4, 5 Hang Tre street.

Last time, we were so lucky to welcome Mr. Long, a Fecon's dragon, to discuss about Fecon's earth understanding as well as his full marathon experience. Tomorrow, we may have someone with expertise about Coteccons to share another hot story.

It is really a hard time this year but sure that we have learnt a lot of remarkable things and these things should be shared in a friendly beer atmosphere. From traditional side, we will have anh Đào Phúc Tường, one of the most experienced of Vietnam financial and CFA communities, and various friends working in the fields of securities, finance and investment. From start up side, we will have Nghiêm Xuân Huy and Huy's team from Finhay, a very nice fintech company that helps users to get a regular income from the investment of their micro monthly savings. And of course, I will be there to discuss everything about corporate law, investment structuring and wonderful trekking experience in the North West's mountains.    

As a friend networking, we will share all finger foods and drinks on the table. However, for those have to return home earlier, we will collect 300K for ladies and 400K for gentlemen (who register their participation by 6:30PM, Thursday, 5 Nov). For those who register later than that time, I hope 500K is fine for a last minute ticket.      

Again, I will sponsor a number of premium GoldMalt craft beers for the first comers. Surely our beers will be the best one of Pilsner types and always much colder than your ex girlfriends :D

So excited to re-note that our index has reached a history record today. 

Just a very nice move, it passed the highest number which has been forecast in our game dated 18 June at VIPC FB Page, 1416. It is always interesting to share ideas with tech entrepreneurs, especially those working in both Vietnam and overseas. This time, we will have quality time with Emily, who has time with CTG locally, then Bloomberg and Meta internationally as Project Manager and Innovation Lead respectively.

Also, so excited to know that Hieu, founder of Tigerlists, www.tigerlists.com, is a truly German made IT engineer. His team has assisted Samsung in developing some nice camera functions for Samsung mobile a few years ago. Tigerlists is his next venture for Vietnamese startups and will soon become an official channel for foreign VC's investment flowing in. The vision is so clear, to support certain percentage of Vietnamese startups going global at an unicorn position.  

From the local site, we may additionally welcome some seniors from industrial park and hospitality developers. They will be more than happy to share with us their hard journey to build a profitable asset from master plan, licensing, financing to final operation.

Hello,

We followed public initiatives from global consulting firms such as Tony Blair Institute (TBI) and Boston Consulting Group (BCG) these days as well as recent seminars about the international financial centre in HCMC (IFC). Initiatives from TBI, BCG and other professionals seem old fashionable model which have been tailored a decade ago for something physically big and attached with land and traditional finance. 

One more thing that is absent in these initiatives is the nightlife and entertainment business for those who work too hard in the IFC like Marcu Le and Jimmy Trung have shared with us last time. Of course, it will also need some quick and elegant escort services from IFC to Bui Vien or Thai Van Lung areas that are designed for midnight senior meetings. How about a special visa and free entry privilege for those qualified? 

Surely, our teams here are strong in finance and investment, young and experienced enough to be aware of certain practical perspectives of some global IFCs such as Singapore and London. So, I suggest we spend a bit of time brainstorming about this key topic, then we will gather in the middle or end of May 2025 for a more serious discussion. After that, if things go well, we will draft and circulate a list of initiatives / suggestions to set up that IFC. Yes, again, it is a kind of decentralized knowledge (DeKn) for the public benefit under a bottom up method.

Would love to see more strong hands supporting this idea.

Hello my friends,

We will move to Bcc this time as I have received a very nice sponsorship to organize a state of the art IFC model discussion for Vietnam. Knowledge from Frankfurt, Switzerland and Hong Kong will gather at one place to share and to introduce some perspectives / products of a model similar to crypto Zug Valley, a combination of traditional finance and new trends introduced by crypto investors and entrepreneurs recently.  

IFC under the new concept is not only a sum of high concrete buildings, but a finance and related ecosystem located inside a natural, green and lake place that are connected together by high internet speed and just need bare walks to stay in touch with others. A mix of digital and financial nomad communities and plus dynamic Vietnamese representatives, who will jointly share a green and fresh air workplace during the day, then may become a "jungle" at night.  

That C-level event will be organized for those in HCMC at the end of May 2025 as we need HCMC authorities and people there to be aware of the trends. However, we will try to organize a beer and more friendly gathering in Hanoi to get various bottom up ideas. Will keep you all updated regularly.

Our pleasure to share the latest draft resolution regarding the IFCs. This draft is at MOJ for further comments and may be subject to other modification rounds for final  ratification around the end of May or early June 2025. Later, based on the frame of this resolution, the PM will issue some guidelines.

Should you have any comments or suggestions for a better position of the IFCs regulations under the existing circumstances of the Vietnam market, feel free to let us know asap. We may discuss with the drafting team of MOF or MOJ, together with comments from related parties and international consulting firms.  

We will gather soon to evaluate pros and cons of the coming IFC in HCMC.

Please see attached the latest draft resolution on the IFCs. This 26th draft looks clearer than the previous versions. However, we have to wait a bit more for detailed guidelines. Do hope the Government restructuring recently will go well with a fresh influx of funds and technologies under an open minded administration.

Hello Friday Beer Friends.

We gathered at the Government Office today morning to discuss this 27th draft of the IFC. A kind of IFC 1.0 that follows the existing model might be introduced early June as we will need more time for an outstanding IFC concept.

Digital IFC for future finance has been raised by some speakers but not clear enough to create a break through of related state authorities. Fintech sandbox, trial for crypto exchange and other new financial trends should be combined at the IFC, then reduce the testing time. But as for now, it is separately regulated under different drafts and different ministries in charge.

As for now, under my view, the most suitable NA resolution should be limited (i) express a strong intention in setting up an IFC for the future, not a version of the existing IFC; (ii) provide some open regulatory frames for the IFC; (iii) the PM to form a team of 25 members from key ministries, young entrepreneurs, traditional finances, fintech and crypto investors to gather at a far away island likes Jekyll where FED has been designed in 1910. The mission of this team is to brainstorm for an outstanding charter and clearer images of a future IFC.

Anyway, it is a good news so far. Enjoy reading.
