It appears things are going well, just a few recent changes that need a
bit of work. I plan to stop including new features and changes that
change behavior after this weekend.

Then a week of testing, awaiting any issues reported, updating
documentation, etc. No risky changes. If this goes well then we can
release Vim 9.0.

If you maintain any of the runtime files or translations, please send
updates now!

I am always surprised in the Linux world how quickly solutions can be
obtained. (Imagine sending an email to Bill Gates, asking why Windows
crashed, and how to fix it... and then getting an answer that fixed the
