Test failure in test_popupwin

when running the testsuite, I see the following error for

Flaky test failed too often, giving up

It looks like the (visual) highlighting wasn't removed. Anything that could cause this?

Ah, the highlighting should be there, while it isn't. I wonder if this
could happen because this is run in a putty environment, where the mouse
does not actually work. However, it looks like this is the only test
failure, although there are other tests which use test_setmouse.

The other way around: The modeless selection doesn't show. It is
selected with some tricky mouse events. But it appears to work in most
places. Any idea what is different about this system? Ah, you mention
putty. I also had it fail on an ssh connection. Perhaps it's because
in the terminal window mouse dragging is not activated.

So is there any way to detect whether mouse selection should work?
