Tuesday Hike

The hike for the 17^th was originally scheduled to be a double loop from Elizabeth Furnace, one up Sherman Gap and down Shawl Gap, and one going over Meneka Peak.  I will have to check conditions before sending out any announcement about the hike.  I suspect that going along the trails will be very arduous under the current conditions, especially as the snowfall was greater in the western regions than it was in the metro area.  Also, I'm not sure whether the parking lot has been cleared of snow.  It seems doubtful, especially when one takes into consideration how understaffed the park services are.  I won't be able to investigate until Saturday, but my guess is that we will have to settle for something closer to the metro area and with less elevation gain.

I don't recall if it is Ed's or Marshall's turn for the March/April schedule. Ed is out of the country. I leave next week. If one of them does not send out a schedule request for hike leaders by Sunday, I will post one and Ed or Marshall can take over when they are back in town.
