Tuesday 17th March Vigorous Hikers -Little Fort campground - Green Mountain ATV Tr Tuscarora Trail loop 14miles 2000ft

We will meet at Little Fort campground parking https://maps.app.goo.gl/RkBhHouArsUFnX1u8 off of Woodstock Tower Rd   38.86793, -78.44261 in time for an 8.30am start 

We will head out on Peters Mill Tr before shortly turning left onto Green Mountain ATV trail. Alterations to the junction means that at 4 miles in, straight on, on the map is a left turn to stay on Green Mn trail. After 6.7 miles turn right on Peters Mill Run. 

After just 0.1 miles there is a very obscure entrance on the left to Bear Trap Tr (Pink). If we are not together, try to have or be with someone who has gps tracking as it is very easy to miss. Cross the small valley to Tuscarora Tr and Turn Right. There are rock ledges here that work for a lunch spot.

Go approximately 6 miles until just past the hang-gliding overlook and turn right on Wagon Rd Trail (Woodstock Tower is a short detour to the right) and descend on switchbacks to the parking.

Note that this ATV Trail is closed to motorized vehicles January through March. I hiked it yesterday; there were 3 or 4 trees laying across it that were easy to step over. There are no stream crossings.

To carpool: Hikers wishing to carpool should meet at the Centreville Park and Ride off I-66, exit 52, Centreville. Arrive early enough so that drivers can depart the lot no later than 7:00 AM.  Go west on Rt 29 taking the 2nd right into the park and ride lot, then immediately turn left to the corner of the lot where our group gathers. Please let me know if you will meet at the carpool lot so we can coordinate to have enough drivers.
