While trying to download a MP4 I notice in Chromium based browsers VDH do not detect new videos using the Presto-Player.  It looks like it from word press.  Now the funny thing was VHD works correctly using FireFox.

Any Idea why would be nice to know how to fix.

DevTools failed to load source map: Could not load content for https://learn.lindsayadlerphotography.com/wp-content/plugins/presto-player/src/libraries/hls.min.js.map: HTTP error: status code 404, net::ERR_HTTP_RESPONSE_CODE_FAILURE

When I click the link you provided, I get an error from the web site saying the page is
not found. That is precisely what the error status code 404 you reported is trying to
tell you. In addition, your problem report is incomplete. Please try again, following
this advice:

https://groups.google.com/g/video-downloadhelper-q-and-a/c/_DmryjDe_Ck

Please provide at least one URL of a sample problematic video that points to a page that
actually exists.

I received this as a private reply. You should really post this in the group so
everybody can read it & maybe you'll get more people to help you. As a general rule, you
should avoid the Reply to author button. You should prefer the Reply all button. Reply

> Firefox: 89.0.2
> Edge: 91.0.864.67

That file showed up in the console saying it was a web page that did not exist. That is
not very helpful. That is an event that occurred probably later in the process of
attempting to download something. What you need to post here is the URL of a page that
contains a video that is giving you problems, possibly more than one URL of such an
example. The information you provided above is useful but if you add at least one URL of
an example of your problem, we'll have a complete picture. Also, sending your post to me
alone will not help you. I use Firefox & only Firefox. You're not having a problem on
Firefox. You need to post in the group so people who are using the other browsers can
help you. Remember, I'm just another user, like you. I don't work for the VDH folks.

the problem with posting to the site, is not a public site. So the link actually would not work for the site.

okay I found a video.

this one is undetected in chrome, but in firefox using the same version it is.

Ah yes. Free vs pay sites. Something to remember when you post here.

I went to that page (in Firefox) & without clicking on anything, VDH offered me variants
at various resolutions for what looked like 2 videos. I picked the 2 1920x1080 variants
& downloaded them. I got one MP4 of 28 seconds & the other of 41 seconds. Nice, short
examples. Excellent choice. They both played perfectly in VLC, with video & audio all
the way through. So I can confirm that Firefox VDH has no problem here. Now we need
some of our Chrome compatriots to speak up.

It is routine for VDH to detect nothing on a page. Usually, clicking the play button in
a video on the page makes VDH recognize something. Sometimes, it takes reloading the
page a few times. Sometimes, it takes reloading the page AND clicking play on the video.
This is not a bug in VDH. It's just the way things work sometimes. I'm assuming that
even after you try play or reload+play, that Chrome VDH still does not detect anything.
Is this correct?

In Both Chrome and Microsoft Edge browsers you get "No Media to Process on the Current Tab".

Firefox works like a champ and same version VDH.

I have individual licenses for all three browsers. Chrome is through the play store.

Not sure if it will work but clear the cache history & cookies for Chrome / Edge. Then add an extension which can change the user agent.
What you want to do then is to select a Firefox user agent. After that head back to the site and what is the end result ?

well I think we are on to something.  I changed the User agent using the drop-down menu to "Firefox-Mac" and I did detect the MP3 but still not the video.

I tried also and still nothing detected . I made my ungoogled chromium Windows 10 Firefox .
I thought it might be to do with what browser the site detects so that's an unusual anomaly.
Firefox is my main browser though for downloading.

Thank you for your Confirmation Matt.  At first, I thought it was the browsers myself. But when Firefox was able to see it, then tried all sort of things to try to figure out where the issue is.
