Error code child process failed. What is this and how can i get around it?
Linux .deb installation on Pop_OS. Worked fine before I upgraded to the latest app.
If I open Synaptic I see that net.downloadhelper.coapp 2.0.10 is installed, but when I try to download a video from anywhere I get a message that the companion app needs to be installed. Just a bit confused. Thanks!

Many posting talking about similar things.

On Linux, first thing to try is

/opt/vdhcoapp/vdhcoapp install

If that doesn't work, you should review all at

https://github.com/aclap-dev/video-downloadhelper/wiki/CoApp-not-recognized

If all else fails, remove the package "completely" ... then reinstall.  To be on the safe side, always end by running the command given above to "close off the issue".

If that all works, please reply to the Group that your issue is closed.

If it still fails, you will have to wait for a developper to respond.
