Anyone seen this issue?
We have several SN6832 cameras that when the there is a poser failure or loss of network connection the default back to the 169.XXX.XXX.XXX address, and lose whatever static IP address was programmed in the camera.
Note: The cameras do not lose their name, display settings, time, NTP Server, etc.
The just reset the IP address

Hi Daniel Strawn
Check if there is an Ethernet server that assigns IP addresses through DHSP, or a native search engine for the cameras such as the smart manager, perhaps that is causing the address change.

Do you have more cameras of other models on the same Network?
When there is a failure, does it not affect the other cameras, only the SN683 PTZ?

My recommendation as an integrator is that you have a dedicated network, outside the data network of other users and assign a password to each camera, do not leave the factory password, you can use a general password but only the administrator knows it.

Good luck

Armando,

Thanks for the follow up.

The failure follows the camera. It occurs on when the unit power cycles.

I have bench tested the unit on two networks, both networks are standalone networks. The site where these cameras are installed has 40 of these cameras, along with 40 other models of all Vicon cameras. The network is a standalone network of Aruba switches, connected with single-mode fiber.

All the operational equipment, servers, client PC, and encoders are Vicon running version 23.

Currently, I have two SN683 that are experiencing this problem. One of the units is only resetting every couple of weeks. The unit that I can bench test in my office is stable until it is powered off and restarted. The only thing that is lost is the IP address, all other camera settings remain such as camera names, NTP server, displays such as telemetry, titles, camera home position.

As you can see our customer has a huge investment in these cameras, so I trying to figures something out, before I have to recommend replacing all the units.

Thanks,
