With 7th CPC and AFT in favour of NFU and steep pyramidal structure, there was never a doubt about the eligibility of NFU to defence officers. It will be interesting to see how it gets implemented. Defence Officers issues are not comparable to police and civil services and PBOR. Two points of interest will be:

1. If a Lt Col gets a Maj Gen pay + MSP, he will draw more pay and pension than a Maj Gen. This doesn't sound logical. Let us see how this issue is resolved.

2. With many branches in all three services, it will be interesting to see how batches are defined.
