Position: Network – Data, Security & Wireless Architect/Sr. IT Specialist
Location: Topeka, KS
Full Time / Contract

Job Description:

  • Minimum 8-10 years' experience as a Network Admin
  • Experience configuring and deploying network switches, routers and appliances including adding VLANs and routing protocols
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience in (V)LAN, Routers, F5 Load balancers
  • Should have experience in Site Visits, DR Test and DR Support
  • Implementing and troubleshooting Wireless network technology.
  • Ability to work with Capacity Planning and vendors on equipment procurement, returns and inventory
  • Good Knowledge on wireless infrastructure including wireless controllers, access points, ISE and Cisco Prime
  • Need to have complete understanding of basic and advance F5 load balancer configurations
  • Applicant must have an understanding of load balancing strategies/techniques, expertise in application switching/traffic management, knowledge of persistence and SSL certificates
  • Experience supporting infrastructure to meet network requirements by monitoring performance and availability and tuning network infrastructure to meet SLAs for LAN, WAN, etc.
  • Good knowledge on Routing protocols, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, QoS
  • Provide technical expertise to perform network architecture development, design, and test efforts for Manufacturing and development group
  • Maximizes network performance by monitoring performance; troubleshooting network problems and outages; scheduling upgrades; collaborating with network architects on network optimization.
  • Design networking solutions and be able to present the data to influence design.
  • Perform functional, cost-benefit and risk analysis to support design changes.
  • Planning, engineering, forecasting, implementing, and identifying resource requirements for complex network systems.
  • Understanding Network WAN optimization technology (i.e. Cisco WAAS, Riverbed etc.)
  • Understanding on Network Security domain – i.e.  Cisco ASA, PIX, Checkpoint, Juniper etc. along with expertise on encrypted packet transmission over LAN/WAN network
  • Provide ongoing network performance feedback; may conduct investigations at customer sites in order to diagnose and troubleshoot product issues.
  • Recommend enhancements to the network operations and design where appropriate.
  • Converged network concepts and related technology.
  • Experience in Mobile Services and Wireline Services (wireline endpoints)
  • Should have experience in handling MACD activities for all phones at complex environment.
  • Should have experience in handling Executive Conference bridge services, Voice and video conference system management
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills are must
  • Ability to communicate and work together with network carrier resources
  • Practical, hands-on experience with Cisco network devices, specifically 650x, 3750 (v1, v2, and X), 3850, 29xx models
  • Ability to use network monitoring and diagnostic tools such as Wireshark, NetScout, TACACS, etc.
  • Familiar with managed Fortinet and Juniper Headends and End point firewalls
  • Troubleshooting and diagnostic experience on Cisco devices and handling general network issues
  • Experience in LAN vs WAN support
  • Should able to handle Wireless environment (WCS/Prime, WLCs, SBR, PoE, Fiber media converters with DC rectifier)
  • Good understanding of Cisco Nexus Products line (7K, 5K and 2K) and Datacenter concepts with understanding on SDN technologies.
  • Good understanding and exposure on Network integration and transformation.
