We now have an official request from Chris Beach....
I think we need ARC and BMC to determine/choose installation and standards so the garage doesnt look like a hodgepodge of solutions and the wiring a ball.of spaghetti
Can we get this review/analysis done so we can see recommendations in next BOD or no later than July BOD?
thanks
Joe

PS - Cindy and I discussed this and she may already have this in the works. I just want to ensure something in the works .

I'm not sure what you mean about the hodgepodge, Joe.  Are you thinking the installation of the wire from the hub to the spot should be in a certain pattern?

That is my thought, yes. When Tim, Cindy, and I visited the Metropolitan. They had a single standard for installations and wiring. I think looking feel is important. What do you think?

I am thinking that there are many ways to install a charger — the way in which both chargers are now installed; from the ceiling; and, on a pedestal within owner’s space just to name a few.  All these need to be addressed.

I don’t think we can let older technology dictate what is done now and in the future.  Form follows function.

For power to spaces with no nearby wall, the Metropolitan uses ceiling drops to the chargers. Their garage looks very neat, consistent, and well-designed. This approach is also in line with the wall mounted chargers (i.e., ceiling drops).

not quite sure if we're on the same page here.
the 'function' is simple: deliver 'level 2' service to individual parking spaces. that technology is not rapidly changing and once we're installed, it won't be changing for a long time at The Vaux.. My point is that the ARC and BMC choose a standard for spaces with walls, posts and spaces without them. I dont think (a good planning meeting discussion here) that we want, to repeat myself here,  a hodgepodge of unique solutions chosen by every unit owner on their own. Look and feel is important (just as it is for door handles in our hallways etc...).

In the case of the Metropolitan (which Tim, Cindy and I visited) they have a standard (vendor for delivery etc...)for each type of space (next to a wall, next to a post, and without a wall or post). they also have a meter. (I, personally, like the standards i saw in the Metropolitan. I would not like to see pedestals in parking spaces etc... But I'm open to what ARC and BMC recommend....)

This wont be resolved by us on an email thread. Let's let ARC and BMC grapple over this and then we, as a board, can choose from whatever options they bring in. I just want to add a little urgency to this since Chris and Joy are waiting on an outcome....

Fair?
thanks
Joe
