Hi Butch,
Very nice looking antenna with impressive specifications!
For comparison, the FO-33 antennas I built are 33 elements only in one plane and are 24' 3.75" long with a ~ forward gain of 19.2 dBi.
This antenna has 25 elements in each plane and is 22' 2" long with a ~forward gain of 19.7 dBi!
It is shorter with 0.5 db more gain, and can be used in circular polarity to boot!
WOW!
If I was to build another 432 MHz array, I may have picked this antenna.
Faraday rotation off the moon sometimes gives me a lot of trouble, and an array of this antenna would solve that issue.
You could also go circular and not have any Faraday issues, but you would have to have an extra relay and 90 degrees hybrid or phasing system to hear your own echo.
The Moon is like a bad mirror and changes circular polarity. Example right hand circular polarity, (RHCP) on transmit to the Moon, and left hand circular polarity, (LHCP) on receive off the MOON.
Cool antenna!
Best Regards,
Cowles
