I have a windows 10 OS machine, I have installed Oracle VirtualBox and a VirtualMachine with Ubuntu 12 LTS.

I have installed Vagrant on the Virtual machine.

When executing the Vagrant Up command through the Visual Studio terminal, I am encountering the below error and unable to move forward.

"" $ vagrant up  --provider=virtualbox
The provider 'virtualbox' that was requested to back the machine
'default' is reporting that it isn't usable on this system. The
reason is shown below:

Vagrant could not detect VirtualBox! Make sure VirtualBox is properly installed.
Vagrant uses the `VBoxManage` binary that ships with VirtualBox, and requires
this to be available on the PATH. If VirtualBox is installed, please find the
`VBoxManage` binary and add it to the PATH environmental variable.""

Currently the shell for Visual Studio code seem to be configured to use git bash but needs to be configured for Vagrant.

I have uninstalled, reinstalled, logged out and relogin but unable to get through.

Looking forward to seek support from the group.

Let's rule out one possible problem. Can you provide the full command
you used starting with 'vagrant init'?

Thank you very much.

I did not use "vagrant init" command but my command was "Vagrant up"

If I run the init command, I get error stating the Vagrant is already installed and needs to be removed to execute the command "vagrant init hashicorp/precise64"

hello

you can run 32bit guest inside virtualbox
if your guest is 64bit you may have issues.

if you host already have virtualbox, why not running vagrant there ?

thanks

Thanks for the suggestion, I had run 32bit version as well. But the problem remains as is.

Hi,
I have VM on host, but the vagrant is setup to install out Database VM's hosts on Virtual Machine Player. If I try to install Linux or Window on Oracle VM is working fine but the script vagrant up is not taking to install on Oracle VM. Hope I will try to change the version in the vagrant properties.

Thank You
