gclient sync error while fetch v8

I'm trying fetch v8, but missing a error.

E:\v8-src>gclient sync

fatal: ambiguous argument 'HEAD': unknown revision or path not in the working tree.

Use '--' to separate paths from revisions, like this:

'git <command> [<revision>...] -- [<file>...]'
