Ok, UtahSec friends, it looks like we may actually be ok to get together again. I figure we should start simple. First steps, as always, are locating a willing host facility and lining up some speakers.

My questions to you are:
 - what locations do you know that would be willing to host us?
- whom would you like to speak / what would you like to learn about or do?

Feel free to respond to this thread or email me directly (hy...@utahsec.org).  As always, if you're aware of events happening that you think UtahSec people would be interested in, feel free to post those here too.

801 Labs, in Salt Lake City, is always open for events like this.

801 Labs is always down to host meetups. We just need to arrange it and get it on the calendar.

As far as topics to discuss. I think if we do a meeting sometime in the near future then it would be cool to discuss some of the cybersecurity implications and fallout of the Russia/Ukraine conflict. I’ve been doing some intelligence briefings on this subject and would also love to hear others experiences.

Filevine would be willing to host an event.  Log4J, spring security and other high profile vulnerabilities have had me thinking a lot about vulnerability management and IaC options to automate this process across the organization.

This is such great news. I have a classroom that will fit 30 we can use in Sandy. 9815 S Monroe. It's right across the street from Hale Theater.

The next question is what time(s) are available/preferred? Historically we’ve done Thursday evenings, but I believe 801Labs has that as their standing DC801 night? I’d probably prefer a Tuesday or Wednesday night.

Thx!

801 Labs is open to a meeting on Thursday, you'll get a lot of attendance from the normal attendees then as well.

Tuesday is also acceptable. You'll still get some attendance on Tuesday from the normal hackerspace patrons on a Tuesday.

Route is happy to host from time to time as well. We’re close to point of the mountain by Thanksgiving Point.

The address is 1557 W Innovation Way in Lehi.
