The RUSA Permanent Route program allows riders to ride vetted brevet routes at any time.

We have a group in Bountiful that is working to earn the P-12 award, which is to ride a 100k Perm (or Populaire) each month for 12 consecutive months, and you can earn a really neat patch.

Perm Details, including registration instructions:

P12 Award:

Next ride will be March 29, 10AM, starting at the Maverik in North Salt Lake at Center St & Redwood Rd, just off of I-215.
Perm route 1365

If you'd like to join, please sign up for the Perm Program ($10 annual fee), and register for this route for March 29.

If you'd like to ride a Perm on another date,  post to the mailing list if you'd like other riders to join in.

Also, feel free to post any questions about perms, awards, routes, route submission, etc

-Ken

Woo hoo!

Thanks Ken, both for helping promote this more approachable rando goal, and for all the work you do in general.

Amy and I are now 3 months into our P-12 goal. Jeff E had started with us, but I think he missed #2 in Feb, and is planning his MAR ride on the 29th (starting over good P-12 journey), as Ken mentioned. Amy & I might be able to join that day. Hopefully we'll be able to realign in APR and ride together again, and hopefully more will join! But also, as Ken mentioned, Permanents can be ridden at any time.

Welcome to Spring andHappy Pedaling!

I'm planning to come join in on the 29th.  Looking forward to it!  I can register for the permanent program if you need me to, otherwise I'm just in it for a ride with friends and a reason to get out to Antelope Island.

Two registrations are best to keep the attorney's happy:
  1. Register and pay for an annual "Perm Pass."
  2. Prior to riding, register for each and every event (no charge, once you pay the annual fee).
Best,
Rando Richard

I’m planning to ride on the 29th, too. But, I’m making no commitment for the P12!

Looking forward to it,
David

I look forward to riding with you David!

Also, there's been some questions about registering for a Perm, which is different than our standard brevets, so here's how:

Click on Member Log in

Either Create a New Account, or Log in (if you have already created an account)

Select the Permanents tab, and you'll see the Perms you are registered for, and a selection to register.

Thanks everybody who rode this, we had a great ride with bonus waffles, hot chocolate, and just enough rain to keep it interesting :D

Instructions to log your results for a Perm:
Log in to your RUSA account, select the Permanents Tab, then click Submit Results
perm1.png

Select Complete the ride in, then put in your finish time. For me, this was 5 hours 58 minutes.

Click Submit Results and you're done

Woo hoo! Hopefully this is a kickoff for active and persistent Permanent activity in upper UT :-)

Amy and I aren't yet sure when we're doing our April ride, but will make sure to post in case anyone is interested in joining.

Wish we could have joined yesterday. Ride on!
