We have all ushers in local store purchased personalized name badges. Sometimes our ushers act as greeters if they have the right kind of personality – otherwise there are not official greeters. The name badges say Usher. Yes, I agree it is really nice to see names on ushers and greeters. The individual will take the name badges home with them and wear them when they have the assignment. Yes, sometimes they forget, but it is an honor to be an usher and all have a tendency to wear their name badge. We keep them updated by “every so often” ordering new badges. When the need seems to arise.
Every October the entire parish wears a nametag every week of the month. You would wear the badge of your ministry or simply make your own paper name tag at the church entrance. We get to know each other better in our large parish.

Hello.
We use a magnetic type of name tag for our Hospitality Ministers (same as ushers/greeters) which measure about 1”x3”. We personalize each tag with the name of the minister and “Hospitality” below their name. We have found the magnetic type to be more user friendly and do not damage clothing. The name tags are kept in a transparent 4-drawer stackable storage container, and the drawers are labeled, e.g. – A-H; I – L, etc. They are stored in our Hospitality Room next to the ministry schedule for each Mass that liturgical ministers are asked to sign in when arriving at church.

Subject: Re: [Using MSP] Nametags or “Usher/Greeter” badges — what works for your church?
We just have generic ones, and they've worked well enough. They're over-the-neck lanyards with a double-sided metal badge. Simple, but effective.
