Augustine Togonu-Bickersteth,
Here’s some inspiration for a good starting place: Countries with no tuition fees
Actually, I thought of this in connection with your letter to President-Elect Tinubu telling him that it’s high time that Nigeria follows in the footsteps of China and acquires a couple of super-computers, commensurate with Nigeria’s population of 219 million souls ( a conservative estimate) but still another prestige factor we should be proud of, as the most populous country in Africa, destined be the third most populous country in the world, by 2050.
By now, Nigeria ought to be way ahead in that field, considering that Philip Emeahwali enjoys considerable fame as “the Father of the Internet”
As the saying goes, “If wishes were horses, beggars would ride”, and so acquiring an x number of supercomputers at a cost of $ Z million - even if manufactured in Nigeria, may be easier said and done, and of course, the main question arising is, who is going to man these x number of supercomputers? Does Nigeria already have the qualified manpower or should that be subcontracted to the nations that you have referred to as being ahead of Nigeria in such matters?
Brings us back to the Great AWO and his education paradigm as a blueprint for the Naija nation’s development.
