The young scholar in his office, the light of adventure in his eyes

Toyin Falola: The Early Years: Laying Foundations

My name is Toyin Falola.

I am a traveler.

I want to know how things happen, why things happen and the significance of how and why things happen the way they do.

In pursuit of this quest, I have followed the migration of humanity's ancestors across the world, from the continent of dark skinned people, tropical forests and savannas.

The rising scholar with textual mentor- a mentorship indirectly mediated through texts - John David Yeadon Peel, whose achievement Faloa describes in a manner suggestive of his own work, as explaining "complicated social processes [linking] micro events to the macro system [ thus analyzing] the relevance of daily practices as they explain larger social issues"- "The Transition of John david Yeadon Peel (1941-2015".

Toyin Falola: Interlocking Academic and Social Networks

I explore every aspect of their lives, from religion to science, art to politics.

I listen to their stories, carrying their struggles and triumphs across time and space.

I admire their art, embodying their blood, sweat and vision.

The warrior in the world of knowledge

Toyin Falola: The Middle Years: Mapping Spaces

I study how they organise their communities and how they cope with disruptions that have shaken those communities.

I would like to share my journey with you, a journey in the wonders of the human spirit, from Ibadan to New York, from Ouagadougou to Tokyo and beyond, as these travelers join other questers into outer space.

Toyin Falola: On the Crest of the Wave

My journeys reach to the ends of the Earth but begin in Ibadan....gold and rust splashed in the sun, the glory of seven hills, beating on the drums of the human heart, as J. P. Clark would put it.
