Let me first of all thank divine providence for the opportunity to be back from the portals of Hell and share the story, the grim spectacle of the glimpse beyond.  Many were not so lucky with death tolls being recorded in the 700s and 800s.

Listen to no one who writes or tells you that the new strains of COVID-19 are not deadlier than the previous ones; they are!  I rode roughshod with the various strain as if it did not exist and every morning with the cocks siren its ' pírí lolongo nji'. For more than three decades I have humiliated the Western flu because it could find no nitch in my body from where it could secure a foothold let alone luxuriate.

Then came the Monday a fortnight ago with aches spreading gradually all over my body and attempts being made to shrug it off with normal exercise regime.  By Wednesday it was clear I was dealing with a totally different invasion force.  I could not leave the house for work.  Indeed I could not get out of bed easily except for hours of planning even to use the bathroom.  I could not sit up straight in bed for more 10 seconds before collapsing back.  I was bedridden.

Every part of my body ached the way never did: from the lower back and the kidneys to the upper back by the lungs it was clear all the organs in the body were being besieged by the invisible invading force.  All energy left me.  I would swagger the few short steps to the bathroom like a drunk. even though I took no drop of alcohol.  All appetite vanished.  I took only two small bowls of cornflakes in 72 hours.

Government said 10 days self- isolation would do the trick.  Mine's more like 20.  But its the horror of this new strain that most have been economical with the truth about.  This is a dangerous disease; this is a deadly disease.  And it is making its way into America.

For the purpose of those on this forum from time to give a just send a 'just checking to see you are doing ok' to our 70+ members.  They will be extremely vulnerable to this new strain especially if they had underlying conditions in any of their internal organs.

Prince:

I never knew you were passing through the trauma of COVID-19. We thank God that you survived it. Your recovery is for a purpose: to impact the world with your talent and goodness.

Stay well.

Brother,

Wishing you speedy recovery. From Pretoria where another variant of the new strain is reported - we are sitting on edge but are hopeful. Indeed the message is for all of us to fortify our health systems for physical and mental strength to be able to withstand the onslaught should it visit.

Wishing you and your families the very best for the cross over to 2021 . May God grant you all good health and speedy recovery should you fall ill.

Please keep your families and circles  of kith and kin updated with knowledge how to prevent  infection and if unfortunate to be infected how to  fortify themselves. Recovery is possible but the journey is tough. To 2021 we go....

Godspeed.

Ọ̀gá Agbetuyi,
This is a serious matter you just narrated. You went through the valley of the shadow of death. Thank God you made it.

We thank Èdùmàrè that we all are stepping into the new year. 2020 was too traumatic.

Happy survival.
The abstinence from food helped you heal
You prolonged it with those two bowls of cornflakes
Fast for 24 hours with lots of water and fresh air to recover.

Olayinka, aburo mi owon:

Ope! Ope! Ope O!

Ope ni f’Oluwa. Jesu seun o!

This is most scary. And the message is simple and clear:

“Not yet, your work on earth is yet undone...”

Until then, may Providence continue to watch over you.

Pele o! Ma f’ara sile o!

Ire, ire ati alafia ni l’opolopo, l’ojojumo o!

Amin. Aase l’agbara Edumare!

Cheers,

Pam

Wow, thank God we are not starting the new year in sackcloths and ashes, mourning another colleague. This must be the sinister missile that missed one's head but got away with one's hat. Congratulations, Ojogbon Agbetuyi! Ọ̀yẹ̀kú is the Odù that appeared on your tray. Therefore, may 2021 be the beginning of your many more years of survival, victorious living and grand productivity. Báríkà o!
