Uncle Show is still relevant, and will always be. Although I would rather they come to him at this stage of life and in light of his health challenges, which he himself had addressed a few times, than for him going to anyone, or anywhere for that matter, in order for the world to benefit from his unparalleled repertoire of knowledge.

i asked because it is very rare for someone approaching 90 to pick up and take on a new job teaching in another country. why would someone of his great stature want to teach for nyu in abu dhabi? on the other hand, nyu's people, amkpa and diawara and terrific film people, and reason for anyone to want to work with them.
i recently visited olympe bhely quenum. he is phenomenal. one of the earliest authors of francophone african literature back in the 50s. he is living with his wife maryvonne not too far from us, and i am happy to report he is doing amazingly well aat the ripe old age of 96
he and soyinka have to inspire those of us moving into old age, or whatever euphemism you want to use.

Teachings need not be structured, like twice a week for six hours. It can be irregular meetings at different times agreed upon by the parties.
