In this webinar, Freeborn Odiboh will contextualise issues of decolonising knowledge and address problems of stale curricula encumbered by lethargic scholarship in art historical studies in Nigerian higher institutions. He argues that most of the Art History programmes in Africa (outside of North Africa) reflect perspectives of the pre-1990s, largely from western views. How the anomaly can be rectified will be an important part of Odiboh’s discussion.
