Kofi Anokye and the Adinkra Symbol Kuntunkantan
Can a person disappear from the memory of the universe?
That is the suspicion about Kofi Anokye as traces of his existence steadily vanish, even as the writer searches for him.
His disappearance is linked to his explorations of Kuntunkantan, a symbol from the Ghanaian origin Adinkra symbol complex.
It is suspected that there is more to the symbol than is conventionally known and that he stumbled unwittingly into powers for which he was unprepared, hence the cosmos adjusted itself to eliminate not only his existence, but all traces that he had ever been.
Mystery story, philosophical reflection, parable and letter, Yoruba Ifa and Twi proverbs, Nigerian Benin Olokun devotion, mythic narrative, mathematical speculation, these various literary and reflective genres are conjoined in the effort to unravel the mystery of Kofi Anokye, coming together in this exploration of Kuntunkantan, within the context of an examination of Adinkra.
