Quick response on Adebanwi referenced in this essay. His career trajectory as I know about it isPhD UIPhD CambridgeThen working as an academic in the US, well before the Oxford professorship. So, I wonder if the assertion that he had to do the Cambridge PhD before he could get the Oxford professorship is accurate.Adebanwi also serms to have been significantly published and very visible in his field before getting the Oxford professorship. His story may be helpful in this analysis but possibly analysed more carefully, in terms of relationships between various factors involving his Western relocation eventually leading to the Oxford professorship.ThanksToyin
