Unknown gun men
Kill some known gun men
And disappear
To unknown locations.

Some known gun men
Unleash anger on us
And kill some of us,
Victims of unscrupulous leaders.

The circle of anarchy
Rotates.

I am angry,
Angered by the arrogance
Of the surrogate gods.
I start a fracas,
A fracas in mother's kitchen,
Others join in the fracas.

When the fracas end,
Mother's kitchen
Will be desolute.

Can we replace all these
That are being destroyed?

Sirs, it is indeed a circle of anarchy. One fact which we refuse to admit is that Nigeria is overwhelmed by internal and external saboteurs. People wonder where arms and bandits are coming from when we are surrounded by failed states. Everybody is celebrating every blow on Nigeria and blaming it on Buhari. No research has thrown up how corruption us fighting back viciously and how election users are funding insurgency all over the nation. The Presidency is not helping matters by not naming the identified sponsors of insurgencies. Everybody appears victorious that they prophesied that Nigeria cannot work.
To all of us, the situation is confronting us. We must change our narratives from ethnic and religious profiling to nationalist perspectives. Let it be said that intellectuals stood apart from social media hypes and manipulations. It is not too late. Those who will profiteer from a balkanized Nigeria are already increasing their stakes in the disintegration agenda. Those who are championing ethnic independence are also preparing hard for the 2023 elections. Imagine that!!!Help us to stop the manipulations and the discordant historical tunes about ethnic dominations. The diagnosis of the Nigerian problem is already exhausted. The narratives must change. We cannot restructure in a state of anomie. I urge that those who have choices should help us with no choices.

I'm puzzled.

The only people I know to be championing ethnic independence suxh as IPOB  are anti-Nigerian elections.

Sikiru has entered into the " the system is okay as it is group. It's just bad people who are spoiling it."

I see this group as escapist.

The more realistic group is the one of "let's renegotiate the terms of our co-existence."

This looks more realistic to me.

Meanwhile is Sikiru more  a Buhari govt supporter than a genuine nationalist as different from a partisan political advocate?

A person who excuses the President of Fulani Herdsmen terrorism, the President of 95 percent vs 5 percent, a person who has no problem with a possible perhaps likely terrorist person as Minister of Communications and Digital Infrastructure may look more  a govt supporter than a non- partisan person.

But how balanced was I in my support of GEJ as I observed the jihadist mindset of Buhari since before 2015?

The present system seems not to be working.

Sikiru didn't come across as an unbiased commentator. He came across as a Buharist, which was why OAA immediately wished his tribe to increase.

Chidi,

You’re not an “unbiased commentator” either. Please show me such a person for all of us to examine, scrutinise, properly. For the time being we will continue to have those who are loyally positioned in their various ethnic and religious trenches, their cultural and socio-economic bases, taking potshots as and when the opportunity arises, if possible shooting to cause the maximum intended damage, some of them to discredit the system which according to Tony Adepoju “seems not to be working” and whilst all this is happening, hopefully, themselves to go unscathed.

Once again I’m in complete alignment with Dr. Eniola’s three latest submissions to this forum. In my opinion what Dr. Eniola proposes in this thread, idealistic as it is, is the right attitude - that the national spirit transcend the narrower confines of ethnic self- interest (including the religious Nigerians who aspire to enjoy an eternity in paradise – after all the shuffering that has been endured on Mother Earth.

The purpose of life is to make this earth a better place for everybody...

Chidi, May all the tribes increase (population explosion...Check this out (further up North)

Good or bad ? : Buhari wants US Military headquarters to be transferred from Germany ( I suppose to Maiduguri ? ) How come no one is talking about this?

Sir, we must renegotiate the terms of our co existence. It started with the concession of the 13%derivation funds to the oil producing states. Have they anything to show for it? However, we can only renegotiate in mutual trust, national security and economic stability. Things Ade not right as they are but I won't join Igbo youths and elites who are not asking questions from their governors but blaming the Fulani everyday.

Sir, this is unfair. I'm an Oparaist. I read a lot of your poems to boost my alleged Buharism. Sir, jokes part, this is no longer a Buhari issue. He might have his failings but no Buhari can use a military might to suppress agitations now. The media will turn bandits' identities to those of harmless protesters. I wish one major step of naming the sponsors of this disintegration agenda could manifest. They include those who were destroying our economies and who lost out in subsequent policy realignments. We know them in the North East and in the middle Belt. We also know a governor whose state has never brought out any news on governance, welfare of citizens, projects' execution, education etc. He was even livid with public anger when a major warlord was killed in his state. He never owed up to the existence of deadly ethnic rivalry in which his life has been targeted. The Gov has basked in the euphoria of the boring narratives of suspected herdsmen since his election. Sir Chidi, matters dey o

The military and paramilitary services instead of arresting the situation, encourages it and only act to prevent revenge against the Fulani militia.

If you had not brought in the angle that minimized Buhari's part in the present insecurity in the country, I wouldn't have accused you of being a Buharist.

Finally, thank you for appreciating my poems and making it public. It takes courage for a man like you to admit to being a fan of a Motor Park Poet (MPP).

I think we should address the financial desertification of the SE and the SS. Non attention to the issue of accountability as regards the large quantum of funds into the two zones has thrown up huge economic problems. Insecurity cannot dwarf this obvious dereliction on the parts of the youths and the elites of these zones. Youth unemployment began with the abuse of the funds including the NDDC rich but emptied pot by the stake holders.
All the frustrations and the aggressions being transfered to the nation now should have been acts of charity begun at home.

Chidi,

Most importantly Dr. Eniola confessed to being an unabashed and terribly biased Oparaist, which got me reaching for the Naija political lexicon for the precise meaning of that term “Oparaist”, the complications thereof and maybe the consequences of being one. As for me, jokes aside, I’m far from being an egotistical rogue Kperogist or pyromaniac.

One one defines or differentiates oneself as anything means that one is biased, bruised like someone’s else’s “vermin” (another someone’s virgin big-ass definition of what his fellow human being is supposed to be...

Religion, ethnicity (origins) combined with politics (politricks) is a guaranteed toxic mixture wherever it occurs and that’s why I found myself thinking about my dear Chidi this evening when I read this piece about some of the Brethren (some of the lost sheep from one of the lost tribes of the House of Israel:

“Last, but not least we are currently witnessing the reemergence of the Igbo Hebrews; a large tribe that has over 70 Synagogues, and who are ardently advocating a return to Torah culture and belief; asserting themselves as an integral part of the historic people of Israel and Diaspora. “

If I read you correctly. I don’t suppose you mind Brother Buhari requesting that the US Military move their headquarters from Germany to wherever they are needed in Nigeria, to help in curbing Boko Hararm, local banditry and the folks that you falsely accuse of being “marauding Fulani Herdsmen”

Indeed.  I have always thought the real escapists are those who want the nation to disintegrate to escape justice for the looting of state treasuries they committed under the name Nigeria.

Hence no more Nigeria no return of stolen loots.  They are the principal candidates arming real bandits with their stolen loot.
