When Antetokounmpo was still an ordinary mortal, he was seen as just another migrant in Greece illegally. Now that he is a basketball star, “he has become the ambassador for Greece,” Odubitan ...

While we celebrate Giannis, howmany of the migrants died into the sea, on the way or are in very bad conditions in Greece and elsewhere in the West?

the story about him is encouraging for anyone. his friend says they sold dvds on the streets when they were kids; his parents were poor.
luck and hard work, he made it big. a happy outcome for him. the misery of migrants and refugees continues, but at least here is one boy who became a star, and that can bring some joy.

You raise an important point, Patrick. However, think about this: How many kids died picking through the refuse dumps in Cotonou so that Benin and Africa could have a Prof. Patrick Effiboley that we're all so proud of?
