PhD programs are increasingly becoming part of the architecture of fraud being committed by universities worldwide. It has reached the level of scandal in a country like India where you need a PhD to become a taxi driver!

University uses PhD production as part of the matrix to measure its progress. Professors use it as part of the matrix to measure individual success.  Meanwhile, jobs are shrinking, and growth within specific companies does not require the degree. 

Something must give way!
