Nigerian children have never had it  so bad. Who would speak for them aside UNICEF?
There should perhaps be a ministry of childenns affairs. a one stop shops for children attars.
during the Interational year of the Child at school we were still caned despite reading then African Child by Camara Laye   then there were the comic books, namely Pop and power man, with Authentic African stories fashioned after the American marvel comics. then publication of these comics was abruptly  stopped because the   promoters  had a better business than Nigerian children!. we  woke  to the  rude shock  and bad newsn. some of us maybe psychologically disturb. And our parents did not protest at this injustice against Nigerian children because it was saving them 75 kobo  every week/ i explored legal action    against the promoters buy a lawyer  told me that the court would say i have no lcus standi
the Editors of Nigerian newspapers seem to have ripped off the children's pages and leisure pages. If this is so then its unfortunate
children are Okun beads. children are as precious as a   mothers eye1 , and leisure is also important. There has been a seen a correlation between going on holiday or taking tol leisure and a productivity at work   It's been said nigerans perhaps do not know    how to relax.
we are told the child is the father of the man and Protagoras said man is the measure of all things. These children pages are usually edited by women NOW WHAT ARE the children going to read?
, have we not been told that the hand that rocks the cradle rules the world?. the children's page would have served as a way of catching the children for full blown readership of newspapers and even Books.

some other features of what i would call a family newspaper. were in Nigerian tribune
Nigerian tribune used to have a page for sweet talks and historical excursions. The guardian used to have an eating out page. today the story is different,
perhaps because of the bottom line we have stopped having the much preferred .in my own opinion   family newspapers
