Almost all the members of the commission are Obedient Boys or Babes of Empire, OBE.

Their report starts with Building Trust between the coloniser and the colonised whereas there is nothing but mutual distrust between them and what they describe is better framed as holding authority figures accountable for abuse of power.

Their longest chapter is on crime as if race and crime are correlated when they should have been talking about crimes of the powerful,  EndSars and BLM.

Unfortunately, try as it may, the leopard does not seem to be able to fully change its colour when it comes to the Conservatives British ruling party.

The template they were trying to keep up with was put in place by the New Labour party.  They said they have changed from the instinctive racism that characterised Thatcherite Conservatism to Compassionate Conservatism, but it seems there is a gradual slide back.

Indeed, there has been a remarkable progress made since the Old Conservative days, with second generation African immigrant Kwarteng appointed full Cabinet minister this year, a full Asian being appointed to the sensitive Home Secretary post, and an Asian  Rishi Sunak being appointed to the powerful number two post of the Chancellor of the Exchequer ( they have outdone New Labour in this regard).

A report like this highlights that the test of real change is how government policies impact the ordinary minorities and transform their livelihood, lifting many from the bottom pile.

The 'white ally' is a well established concept but people rarely emphasise the devastating influences of 'Uncle Toms' and 'Aunt Jemimas' (tokenistic in appearance but they insidiously bulwark White supremacy), whose obsequiousness has undermined or even reversed accomplishments on racial justice. The Windrush is still fresh in our memories and widespread racial injustice, which the CRED has reduced to an imaginary 'racial card', where racism is merely a figment of the imagination of ethnic minorities. Perhaps GB should stop playing the 'Commonwealth card' and return everything they looted from their erstwhile Empire - beginning with 'artefacts'.

Priti Patel, the Home Secretary was born in London to 
Ugandan-Indian parents. Her parents immigrated to the UK during the noxious Ide Amin regime.

Indeed, this is the most carefully selected Commonwealth Cabinet the UK has ever produced.

It is not fortuitous. The move towards BREXIT was bolstered by assurances given by Commonwealth leaders to Her Majesty at their last summit that they intend to continue with the bond long after she has been in transition and the heir apparent is in the saddle.

It seems that it was that spirit of let bygone be bygone that spurred this inter-ethnic rapport at the highest level.  These are the new knights of the Commonwealth Britannia who will be doing business with the lands of their ancestry on behalf of the Crown and recommending practices that ensure equity on both sides in the long run. 

This is why the British Commonwealth is destined to outshine the US and the EU in the long run.  It is where majority of world resources is.

We must not forget that many of our children resident in the UK will not be able to say ' return our artefacts' with a straight face at first like those resident in the US, Africa or Asia, but by the by because they now belong to both worlds, they will be able to work out something practical in the long run.

Wouldn’t  British Asians have benefited from the wider
European market? Were they too weak to compete
with Franco- German capitalism?How about
 immigration? Brexit was anti- immigrant so 
would they not be losers with Brexit?

Its a question of self interests.

The reason Oga Biko and many others left for the US was that minorities got the qualifications but did not get the jobs.  To some extent this still happens to the generations of our children born and raised in the UK.  This was why some attacked this report.  So the African generation of Biko had two choices to leave or use their doctorates to drive cabs.  That was what informed Biko's jibe at me when he newly joined the listserv, which you somewhat supported.

But time changes everything; the grumbling of those who stayed to drive the cab and their children became too loud when it reached numerically significant proportions it ushered change in attitudes spear headed by the New Labour party plus, technology expanded the scope of available jobs so that not having people who liked your face to hire you does not translate to joblessness or driving the cab.  


Now this was where the Asians came in.  While the majority of Africans ( including todays professors all over the world)  became locked into the wage mentality, rather than beg their oppressors till their tongues bled, the Asians were first to discover in the diaspora that the only truly reliable job is the one you created for yourself as Mr. Boss  (I mean new immigrant Blacks not trans- Atlantic precursors.)

Shortly before the 1992 Maaschtrict Treaty that effectively flagged off the EU, the Asians had cornered a large space of self employment opportunities while the Africans were busy stacking multi- tiered degrees which guaranteed little ( apart from the pride of the knowledge).  Upon commencement of EU. property values skyrocketed ànd Asian property owners became millionaires overnight.  The largesse was used to fund business expansions.

The EU in large part was a racist cooperative last ditch response to  deter large scale Asian and African immigration because the logic of capitalism is uncheckable: if your economy is successful it leads to expansionism but Europe wanted that expansionism to provide jobs only on racial basis for ethnic Europeans to keep the continent white as the eponym of Conservative Thatcherism  did not even bother to hide, in her electoral diatribe against the Asians.  

As the Yorùbá adage says adáni lóró agbára ló fi kóni  ( trials are the impetus to triumphs)  the Asians built their business empire before the real goals of EU  was explained to them that after years of sacrifices, fortress Europe rules meant they could not bring their relatives in to work in THEIR OWN businesses.  They were not coming to claim benefits, which was the usual disguise to justify racism nor take 'our jobs', that is government employment opportunities for the majority, but their own self help created jobs.  This was the straw that broke the camels back.  Why should they be creating jobs from their own resources many of which came from partnerships with their own kind in Asia only for Franco-Germans to be sent in from Europe for the rich pickings to reduce their own unemployment  in Europe, while the unemployment in Asia where the resources came remained high?

This is why the Asians would not be able to compete with Franco-German capitalism.  It was designed specifically to exclude them.  The Franco- Germans could see a mile off that Asians were not their white cousins they preferred to do business with.  Dont forget they have Asians within their borders too.  Why should they exercise preference for British Asians?  Many came in to the UK with harrowing stories of the way they were treated in Europe.  I remember the Irish priest I worked with at the commencement of the EU who warned ominously of the disgruntled foot loose going to Europe amid the platitudes,  that it was still a trial error gamble.  His words proved prophetic ( of course he loved his volunteer worker.)


Your second question is a follow up on that.  EU (or fortress Europe) was an  EU-wide anti Asian/African racist immigration strategy.  Judging from past experience the UK knew if the Asian disillusionment was not rectified the Asians are out through the next door, Uganda style, with their vast economic resources which under wrote much of the UK's resurgence in the 90s in tow.  Of course the economy would collapse.

This was why they settled for a middle course ( as they did in arriving a middle course of a tetrarchy with the four  British nationalities to prevent the whole nation unravelling,) by devising a fairer immigration system than the previous one that excluded Asians and Africans to the benefit of Europeans who provided in the long term ( apart from the big 4) little or nothing to the British economy.  Most of the places in eastern Europe were arid economies that were sending in hordes of their jobless to the UK beyond the forecast of the British authorities, opportunities which were denied the nationals of the Asian entrepreneurs whose large corporate taxes was used to pay the Europeans benefits before they learned enough English to find jobs ( yours truly taught many of them ESOL adult classes.)

That was why Priti Patel became the helmswoman as Home Secretary, to police the fairer system of an immigration level playing field that applies to all non Britons equally and to guarantee that everyone is happy.
