Professor Falola spoke with great wisdom, demonstrating his understanding of the Nigerian educational system
in comparison with what obtains in the larger world. It is unlikely a world-class university will emerge in a society where universities
hardly have money for research. With university employees in perpetual loggerheads with governments, the only road
for our universities to meet up with required standards is for them to be fully autonomous. I think Falola was very clear about
this.
