i know this in the news now, but when the African Literature Association met in Bayreuth, about 3-4 years ago, one of their ministers attended the conference, conveyed his apologies, and indicated this would be forthcoming.

don't know if any of our company here remember that? also, not to forget, jean marie did an excellent film on this topic, Le Malentendu Africain, and he not only went to the archives, to the religious order in germany, but also to namibia. an important film--as so many of his are
