SLOWLY BUT SURELY NIGERIA IS CHANGING FOR THE BETTER - Things Are DEFINITELY Changing under PMB!

Nigeria imports N4,000,000,000 worth of diaper and sanitary kits yearly. In July 2015, Hayat invested $100.000.000 to build a factory; plus 14MW electricity. The facility has been completed, and work has begun to produce 1,300,000,000 units of diaper and 13,000 tons of tissue yearly.

Europe imports soybeans worth $14.2m from Nigeria, then go on to process it into oil and make thrice the money. In 2017, Alhaji Gerewa built a $50,000,000 processing plant in Kano, with a potential for export. Production has begun with 5,000 workers.

Glass and stones are some of the items Nigeria import for building. In 2017, the importing company, Rongsheng, decided to relocate their factory to Edo State by building a multi-billion naira facility for glass processing. Production has begun and jobs created.

In 2018, PMB was in Calabar to inaugurate this N3,000,000,000 rice seedling factory to boost Nigeria's yields. Rice farmers already booked a N2,000,000,000 order, and Bayelsa/Abia/Delta States also bought theirs. India made $7,000,000,000 from rice and this factory has a potential of N14,000,000,000 revenue yearly.

Nigeria has a $3.7billion groundnut market as the 3rd biggest producers in the world. The Dantata family became billionaires from the sales to Europe. But Nigeria's export was later banned, but today the UK has given new approvals with the first groundnut containers off to Europe again.

Africa spends billions importing medical kits from India. After Jubilees, another firm HMA Medical, has set up a new plant in Nigeria that produces 200,000,000 syringes, 350,000,000 needles, surgical (cotton wool, napkins and caps) materials. Nigeria can supply the continent's demand with time. The plant is located in Ilorin.

Ikun Dairy Farm was established in 1980 with fattened cows on 1,000 hectares of land. Valued at N700,000,000 but left to rot away. The good news, however, is that last week, Anders Einarsson, MD, Promasidor signed a pact with Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi to develop and source milk for processing from the Farm. This is in response to FG's directive that dairy producing companies must source for their milk locally. It is called Backward Integration Initiative. Promasidor are the makers of Cowbell, Miksi etc. Ikun Diary Farm is located in Ikun Ekiti, Moba LGA.

Nigeria has abundant gas deposit that gets wasted daily, yet spends billions importing cooking gas (LPG) from Argentina and Guinea. Federal Govt is completing the largest LPG plant in Edo.

Industrialization continues to pick up steam in Nigeria as Weewood Limited, completes its multibillion Plywood/HDF factory in Ondo. Federal Govt is ahead of schedule to inaugurate a 30MW Independent Power Plant that will supply stable electricity to the firm and others in Ore.

Banks in Nigeria spend billions importing bullion vans from Brazil. ProForce Nigeria is now reducing that import bill by manufacturing Bullion Vans for the CBN and major banks while operating out of their factory in Ogun state.

The Netherlands’ Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation, H.E. Mrs. Sigrid Kaag has affirmed that given the consistent result FrieslandCampina WAMCO has recorded in local milk sourcing, Nigeria has the right partner to stimulate growth in the industry.
The Minister witnessed the signing of the partnership extension agreement on the Dairy Development Programme between FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria PLC, represented by Ben Langat, Managing Director, and International Fertilizer Development Center (IFDC) represented by President and CEO, Albin Hubscher. The aim of the agreement is to sustainably transform and lead the local dairy sector in Nigeria by supporting the transition of local dairy farming into modern dairy farming and developing key structures required for a sustainable value chain.

Nigeria and China have signed a deal to start manufacturing transformers in a N4,000,000,000 facility in Kogi. About 60 Nigerian engineers are being sent to China now to learn in their factories how transformers are made.

Abia State shoe markets has gotten international backing. The German Corporation Agency has announced plans to develop and link 5,000 Aba shoe businesses to international brands in Europe. Nigeria has 20,000,000 cattle producing leather for the multibillion Aba-shoes firms.

Nigeria has massive deposits of salt in Keana, Nassarawa that can meet domestic demand and still be exported yet salt mainly from Brazil dominates Nigeria's import at $700,000,000 annually. PW Mining Group are now in Nasarawa to turn that salt into wealth through mining and processing.

Seplat is changing that with a $700.000.000 investment into a gas processing plant.

Federal Govt has supported the project in Imo state with $200.000.000.

Kofo Akinkugbe. She is the founder & CEO of SecureID Nigaria limited. She's a market leader in smart card technology and digital security. SecureID is a world-class manufacturing facility produce approximately 200,000,000 smart cards per year. And they export to other African nations.

A decade ago, Nigeria was importing 100% of aluminium cans for soft/hard drinks at a cost. GZI built a manufacturing plant to produce them locally. And in 2016, Nigeria has started exporting to South Africa, Cote de Voire, Republic of Benin. Production has hit 1,200,000,000 cans annually, with export in mind.

The Nigeria Armed Forces import their uniforms from Turkey and Pakistan. This has helped developed the textile industry of those countries at our expense. Federal Govt gave a directive to stop imports of military clothing, and The Air Force has taken steps for local production.

Chinese investors, led by Prof. Zhao Zhihai were in Nigeria yesterday to announce an Agro-processing investment that will replace US farmers with Nigerian Agro exporters. China is investing $16bn-$25bn into building processing facilities in Nigeria.

My people, slow and steady, they say, win the race.

Whether the enemies of this country like it or not, we shall get there, by the special grace of God.

All good news. But much more needed, including adequate hard and soft infrastructure necessary for sustainable development.

For starters, we need power supply, security, transportation system, etc.

Also gas flaring should be outlawed and the petroleum industry and electoral reform bills signed for obvious reasons.

my bias agst this govt is so strong that these so called achievements look like almost meaningless to me.

i see the govt as a terrorist govt that is steadily destroying the fabric of the nation.

to what degree are my  views justified?

Toyin Adepoju,

What you have is not bias.  What you have is hatred bordering on psychosis.  when you see facts and data, your baseless and unfounded hatred evolves into cognitive dissonance, because you still wish to deny the factual data before your eyes.

Continue to wallow in hatred and denial.  Continue to create imaginary and non-existent hateful ideas that you project as and to the government just to feed your hatred for the government.  It changes nothing on the ground.  It only feeds your mind and hate-filled belly with reasons not to sleep and insomnia makes you more psychotic.

Good luck to you.

Cheers.

AN ENGLISH NURSERY RHYME

The law locks up the man or woman

Who steals the goose from off the common

But leaves the greater villain loose

Who steals the common from off the goose

The law demands that we atone

When we take things that we do not own

But leaves the lords and ladies fine

Who take things that are yours and mine

The poor and wretched don’t escape

If they conspire the law to break

This must be so but they endure

Those who conspire to make the law

The law locks up the man or woman

Who steals the goose from off the common

And geese will still a common lack

Till they go and steal it back

This post highlights the development and growth of Nigeria under President Muhammad Buhari across several industries. The author of the post mentions the move away from imports such as diapers, sanitary kits, and soybeans to manufacturing these products at home. Furthermore, the author of this post emphasizes the production of goods, turning Nigeria into an exporting powerhouse. He also touches on international investment from countries like the Netherlands and China to boost development and growth in Nigeria. In all, Nigeria seems to be using its increasing population to transition into an economic powerhouse with investments from outside countries and development within the country.
