The iroko still stands on this soil,
On this bequest
By Ekwem Arugo to offspring.
The iroko still stands
On the soil of ala Owerre.

By sunrise 'morrow
The eagles
Would gather again atop the iroko
From where the manoeuvres,
The majestic manoeuvres
On the sky would ensue.

Ahiajoku
Would glide with the eagles
Releasing
Torrent of wisdom and blessing
To the seekers that converge
At the foot of the iroko.

Thereafter,
The bountiful harvests would begin
And the yams would be plentiful.
