By Chidi Anthony Opara
Kitted
In borrowed kit of revolution,
With sword and swagger,
The heckler
Hatches a hoopla,
Rouses the rabble
And proclaims the rancour
Revolution.
With flared up features
And heaving heart,
The heckler swaggers
Into meal chamber of the state mansion,
Smiles,
Salutes
And surrenders the sword,
The swagger.
From the meal chamber,
Requiem for revolution
Saunters into the ears
Of the waiting rabble,
Rag-tag,
Starved.
They slink into shanties to sulk.
