I wish the former Head of State, General and Professor of Political Science Yakubu Gowon, had appealed to members of the Executive and Legislative branches of government (at the federal and state levels) for SELF-SACRIFICE, and to lead by example, on his visit to Aso Rock. In my judgment, it is paradoxical to ask suffering Nigerians, who cannot afford a meal a day, to be patient while our ministers and political leaders are living large in their luxurious homes and cars.

On ECOWAS, I believe that in addition to his wise counsel to the body, he should encourage the Organization to focus on robust intra-ECOWAS economic development, and to capitalize on the abundant African human capital in the area and diaspora for this significant objective.
