Opinion:

 

While we are weeping and gnashing our teeth over the toxic contemporary politics that is sowing social divisions in America, the Kremlin is watching and cheering us on, and where possible supplying the needed catalyst to advance the country’s implosion.

The paradox is that the situation we are confronting today is somewhat akin to the Gorbachev versus Yeltsin political saga that led in part to the collapse of communism in the USSR.

American liberal democracy is at risk because we elected an individual who never held a political office in his life before he was thrusted into this weighty position.  The consequences of our action are glaring given the governance technique of this custodian of power and alleged philosopher-king.

This is a moment for the intelligentsia to rise up and for patriots to assert their belief in the sacrosanctity of the state. This is a moment in American political history when democrats, republicans, independents, and libertarians demonstrate that the STATE is superior to an individual—President [Prime Minister, King, Queen, Billionaire and others].   

Accordingly, let us vote this November to promote the values of liberal democracy, the constitution and institutions that have made this country powerful!
