I have just skimmed through the document – as a concerned Global citizen and as a potential visitor to Nigeria, heading for Kaduna when the dreaded pandemic is over.
Is plagiarised the most accurate term to use here? I don’t know. What’s appears to be obvious is that the Singaporean model which applies to Singapore has been cloned wholesale and it will be debated hopefully with the necessary adjustments made as may be suitable for Nigeria. In this case a vital consideration in the discussion of habeas corpus – and the time frame ( 24 hours?) and all the potential/ implied ramifications is the answer to the germane question: Is this only an emergency act only or is it supposed to be applicable at all times, in all situations, in all climes, that a police constable can arrest and detain anybody (Nigerians only?) in Nigeria, on suspicion only etc etc.
I wish I were a lawyer
