The BBC sent reporters undercover as students at the University of Ghana. Two separate lecturers propositioned the journalists for sex while they were investigating. Both deny that they did anything wrong, but they were suspended by the university anyways. This is actually very encouraging to see. The fact that the lecturers behaved in such a way is appalling, but the way it is being dealt with is very respectful to victims of sexual harassment. They suspended the professors and are offering an open door for any students who have experienced similar things. From what I have seen in the past, most universities are not this respectful of the victims and don’t always take such swift action when dealing with the perpetrators of such crimes.
