Even in the general confusion on that dark fateful night, it’s difficult to believe that a bona fide Iranian military authority actually gave the order to shoot down the Ukrainian plane soon after it took off from Tehran’s Imam Khomeini International Airport.

And to have done so mistakenly?

Why should he/ she want to shoot down the Ukrainian plane that had been given clearance to take off?

With these suspect plane crashes, apart from engine failure, mechanical errors, the human factor, bad weather etc. the other important question is usually who was on board? I

Mohammad Zia ul-Haq’s  plane exploding in mid-air was attributed to sabotage and in that instance the US Ambassador to Pakistan was on board. In the case of the Ukrainian plane being shattered in mid-air, by an Iranian missile,  an important question is still, who was on board  and a closer look at the passenger list which hopefully does not include a rogue Iranian  or two, suspected to be on their way to Trump’s good friend  Volodymyr Zelensky, the President of Ukraine, with some vital Iranian secrets and hence a last-minute order to bring the plane down…

Since Iran was denying responsibility for the downing of the plane so vehemently and so indignantly,  their change of story and apology suggests to one who is still suspicious, that may be a rogue element / some enemy infiltrator/s shot the plane down and that because an international investigation of the incident would be likely to show that the plane was indeed shot down and  that indeed there would be no denying that it was brought down by an Iranian missile  - once that was established Iran would be looking pretty weak and unbelievable if they were to push the honest truth/ damage control that they did not do it and that  it was indeed  e.g. an American agent in their midst that did it….

As things are now, Trump seems to be firmly in control and to be having the upper hand; any talk or media space being devoted to impeachment fantasies have evaporated either into oblivion or silently into thin air.  Ukraine is in the picture alright but not about generally investigating any corrupt business dealings of the last US administration in Ukraine or more specifically about digging up dirt on Trump’s rival Joe Biden before paying out some United States Government protection money.

Trump now has some reason to be coalescing with his buddy Zelensky once again, this time working openly, I’m sure, about bringing those responsible for the tragic air crash to justice. Goodness knows how many $$$$$ billion or in Canadian dollars the already tightly sanctioned & squeezed Iranian economy will be asked to fork out as compensation to the families of the victims of this air tragedy.
