This is a short note on contemporary antisemitism also known as “the world’s oldest hatred”
Perhaps, inadvertently giving it oxygen by talking about it will either stem the rising tide of antisemitism in the world or inexorably further fan the flames exponentially and thereby - horror of horrors - make it bloom like grass;
Dire consequences.
On the 26th of December 2014, Ted Belman posted “The Church planted the seeds of the Holocaust”, an essay which begins, “ The Holocaust didn’t occur because of Hitler but because of the Church. Hitler merely built upon the policies of the Church and drove them to their logical conclusion”
Indeed, inarguably, The Church planted the seeds of the Holocaust
Recently, I watched these YouTube videos by the Berean Church on Israel
and by others on their burning issue of “The Jews are not God's chosen people”
In my opinion, because Jesus is reported to have declared,” I have only come for the lost sheep of the House of Israel" all of the above are more or less based on replacement theology and , forget about the Islamic side of things, it’s these supersessionist people, the flock of approximately 2.4 billion Christians in the world that are silently leading the charge, the right-wing American Evangelicals and the Nigerian and other African Pentecostals of course playing what they believe to be their vital role , praying for the construction of the third Beit Hamikdash / the third temple,that they fervently believe will precipitate the return of Lord & Saviour, Jesus
At this point the anti-defamation people must be foaming at the mouth, in overdrive…

In his own defence (and apart from Israel, Bob Vylan also has a right to defend himself - which does not always mean that “ attack is the best form of defence “ -although counter-attack is legit - and the Holy Quran affirms ; “Allah does not love the aggressor” - that is, does not like the one or ones who initiate hostilities….

And then the legalists and so called humanitarians and the post-Holocaust folks who likeSt Paul, die daily ( when they remember the Holocaust), will say, “ When we think of the potential consequences of mass incitement, what happened at Glastonbury must be roundly condemned as going well beyond the legal bounds known as “free speech” / “freedom of speech”
Concerning the potential uses or abuses of metaphor in connection with alleged “antisemitism", yesterday I did write, something like
“ If it’s true that Trump's bunker busting bombs failed to “obliterate” Iran’s nuclear research facilities or their stockpiles of highly enriched uranium, then round 2 is unlikely to continue, especially with Netanyahu's unceremonious departure from the limelight, like the ceremonial Yom Kippur goats, having only accomplished genocide, crimes against humanity, further tarnished the image of his country, caused a national and international trauma, pariah state status, one disaster after another. “

There would have been boycotts and sanctions galore, and, needless to say, the international warrants for the arrest of the war criminals issued by the ICC, ICJ , and Interpol, would have meant that they would not be setting foot on US soil or anywhere else in the civilised world without being arrested at the airport and perhaps even being summarily executed/ assassinated.
The latest I saw of a weepy Zelensky on TV , I thought that the choice is clear : He has to decide between his desire for victory by “reclaiming” what he may believe to be his “every sovereign inch” and the pragmatic solution known as compromise, i.e. swapping some territory for peace, if he is indeed serious about peace.
After all, as a Jew he cannot claim that God gave him both Israel and Ukraine or that Ukraine is also his God-given “Holy Land” or that Ukraine is “ The Promised Land” that the Almighty ordered him to go in and possess. Or that the Almighty ever advised him to bomb Holy Russia.
The problem with Zelensky is that he wants to have his cake and eat it too
Zelensky has this in common with Netanyahu : both of them want Uncle Sam to go and fight for them. Of course, we do not hear Netanyahu say to Iran’s Supreme leader,” Do you think I cannot call on my Father, and he will at once put at my disposal more than twelve legions of angels?” Nor do we hear Zelensky saying “those who take the sword shall perish by the sword”
