this is a welcome balance to the articles, mostly coming from abdi latif dahir in the new york times that presented tigray as a victim of abiy's aggressive actions. it followed other pieces showing the tigrayan ethnic cleansing or attacks on amharic or afar
people within tigray, so i wondered and withheld my judgment. when other pieces began to appear in the times, written by other african correspondants, i thought, well, latif dahir must be biased.
i think that is still true. the reportage in le monde was much more balanced, as they say.
