Dear Friends and Colleagues—

 

I am so saddened by the news that Professor Tejumola Olaniyan has passed.  His keen thinking, and especially his generosity of Spirit helped me to believe in the potential strength of a broadly and firmly collaborating Africa and African diaspora.  He provides a model for the work yet to be done.  I thank him for his leadership on many fronts.

I agree! The unannounced positive energy and personal touch he brought to scholarship is worth celebrating in a pan-African fashion.
