This article highlights an important issue in today’s world; minorities being silenced in whatever way works best, without any repercussions. The issue that “No-one has ever been held responsible for any of those deaths in detention, and it's a sore, open wound for the families,” is as valid today as it was in Africa in 1969. If minorities like Muslims are silenced in such ways, denied their rights to justice, will they not be forced to defend themselves in extreme manners, often incorrect? Will they not turn into extremists? Now, is the religion to blame for this or the way they are treated by “increasingly repressive, white-supremacist state(s).”
