hi, just purchased a  1973 Uniflite, 28 .  Can anyone tell me the model? is it a Salty Dog?
Bought is complete, and needs some TLC  has twin Chryslers in it, and one most certainly needs work, the other is soft seized.  Just did a bottom job on it, and will be floating it tomorrow,
any info would be greatly appreciated
regards from Florida

Kudos to you Bill. If it has an open layout (no bridge) then its a salty dog. . . . .

I have an 1975 salty dog (minimal blisters when it did the bottom 2 seasons ago) with a single BBC. Im in Long Island, NY but plan on moving to the Deerfield beach area in 2020-2021; my wife doesnt know it yet but im having my boat shipped down (cost being one of the determining factors).

My boat has been a source of great enjoyment and when i retire to Florida I plan on spending time rehabbing the boat. She is the right size for me to hangout on the weekends (alone or as a couple) and my plan is to do a lot of cruising, maybe even a run to the Bahamas (if feastable) when I make it down to FL.

Good luck with the boat. Shes a solid and stable platform for a variety of activities. . . . . Have a great time on the water and be safe!!!!

Hi Bill,

We just obtained a project 1978 uniflite 28' for free that is built like a sportfisher on a salty dog hull. It has a huge deck and a flybridge which is why it led me to think sportfish. In the cabin on the starboard side there's a dinette, and on the port side is a head, sink, icebox, alcohol stove, and helm. Forward is a sizable V berth.

Ours was a forest service patrol boat on Lake Havesu originally and I did find an ad from 1977 for Uniflite law enforcement and rescue patrol boats so this may have been a special order. I believe some of the cabinetry was added after it was retired and moved to Washington as the cabin door was modified to allow for stretchers.

You can see her on Facebook at Fun with Freeda-a Uniflite labor of love. Good luck with your project!
