Hi all,

We are using Java binding of OpenMPI. Will Java binding work with the fault tolerance implementation?

Best,
Supun.

All Open MPI binding will work but wWe do not have Java binding for the additional ULFM functions. If you want to take a stab at them we will be more than happy to incorporate them.

Thanks,
  George.

Hi George,

In your estimation, how much work this will be? I believe figuring out the changes in ULFM compared to the OpenMPI implementation will be the hardest part and implementation should be straightforward.

Best,
Supun..

The Java bindings are only covering the MPI API, so it has little to do with the ULFM internals, and more with the 5 functions ULFM adds to the MPI API. So, once one understands how the MPI API translates to Java, and the underlying memory tricks (to prevent the java runtime to migrate the memory during async operations), adding the 5 ULFM functions should be pretty straightforward.
