Today (26/Ago/2022) at around 11:00am n8_otaa was launched from Aveiro (Portugal).
It is carrying an AT328P (uProcessor), RFM95W (LORA Trasceiver), NEO-6M (GPS), solar cells and super capacitors.
The LORA transceiver is transmitting LORA-WAN packets over 868MHz (OTAA mode), using various Spreading Factors and 125KHz of bandwidth.
It will be picked up by all the LORA-WAN gateways in this area.
Let's see where it ends up.

Thank you.  What balloon are you using?

Thank you.   The foil balloons cannot take a lot of pressure I think.  The amount of free lift will be critical.

Interesting ascent rate graph - initial ascent rate over land 2.2m/sec (699m @ 11:31Z to 2755m @ 11:46Z)  dropping to 0.8m/sec over water (2755m @ 11:46Z to 4048m @ 12:14Z) - maybe driven by thermal over land.

How much free lift were you using?

I didn't measure the free lift, I just filled it until I felt enough lift. I guess it was too much.

The regular 36" foils , Grabo, Cattex & Qualatex will only take 2 - 2.5 gram of free lift, its critical you fill them to exactly this to have them float.

Correct,  my mistake.  I have another pcb ready,  will give it another shot as soon as the weather conditions get better.
