Hello, I have Xx 5.5. In the documentation there is info, that this version can host 48 Audio Units, but in „Audio units” Track output I see only seven active (see atached print screen).
I don’t know how can I see more audio units, especially Halion Sonic SE, which I need to use.
All the best,
Piotr Roemer
Hi Piotr,
Looked at the screen shot. I also have AUs that either will not load or appear grey on the list.
Audio Units have a number of challenges on MacOS from Apple’s transition from Carbon to Cocoa (iOS compatability) software code, variations in different companies’ programming, number being loaded, etc.
Here is some legacy information on AU’s and Xx 5.2 and later. If you have a lot of Audio Units you may want to consider using a Manager.

All the best,
Kevin

Hi Kevin,
thank you for the advise. So, if I understood You, there are two options: either most of my audio units (such as Steinberg Halion, UVI Workstation, Addictive Keys, etc.) don’t have Carbon user interface and there is no possibility to run them in Xx, or I can use Audio Units Manager to make them visible. Is it correct?
I tried to download Manager from the http://uisoftware.com/XX/Troubleshooting.html, but I can’t load the page from the below link:

Could You send me the link to current version of Audio Units Manager?
All the best,
Piotr

Yes, that page is quite out of date. I’d check the Apple Store for any current Audio Unit managers.
A quick Google search returned a couple: https://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/15028/audiounit-manager
