Backing up a galera node

Is there any specific thing that I need to configure so that I backup all relevant info for a galera node. I ask this because after the backup completes the status of the backup indicates option "galera": "false"?

Version of twindb-backup is 2.15.12

No special configuration is needed to backup a Galera cluster. The tool runs "SELECT @@wsrep_on as wsrep_on" to check and if it's OFF or unsupported then the tool just assumes it's not a galera node.

If it is a galera node the tool enables desync mode ("SET GLOBAL wsrep_desync=ON") before taking the backup and disables when the backup is done.

To restore a backup copy the tool also needs wsrep_provider_version that is stored in the status file.

Are you backing up a galera node?

Yes I am. That's the reason I asked. For some reason it doesn't detect wsrep version nor wsrep_on which is set to 1. But the backup mechanism puts the node in desync state and the backup completes without error after which it disables desync and puts the node in normal rotation. This confused me...

That's not right. Are you running PXC or something else? (I tested on PXC)

I am running MariaDB Galera cluster.
