He told podcastmate David Spade the incident resulted from being handed a larger serving than he had in rehearsal for this past week's cold (!) open, where he played Biden to Rudolph's Harris watching the VP debate...

That Carvey thought this was hilarious says all one needs to know about Carvey. To quote the cliche, I don't think he could ad lib a funny fart after a bean dinner.
