He is calling NBC’s Saturday night game between the LA Chargers and Jacksonville with Tony Dungy. Tirico and Collinsworth will do the Sunday night game.

And for those that wondered, no, Nick did its annual game Christmas Day... no playoff game.

Bad blood?  I had just assumed Amazon drove a dump truck full of money up to his house...

I don’t know the timeline. The first announcement was that NBC wasn’t bringing Michaels back and that made sense if Tirico was threatening to bolt if he wasn’t given SNF. Later Amazon announced they had signed Michaels. It’s always possible the companies and agents worked everything out beforehand but that’s not what was presented to the public.

Michaels leaving NBC was NBC's choice, not his - probably because they had backed a dump truck of money to Tirico's house and weren't getting much for it. There was some speculation that there was bad blood, because people "noticed" that Al Michaels tended not to mention NBC by name when doing the NFL-mandated promos for Sunday and Monday Night Football.
